OUR VISION.

It’s more than just racing bikes.

WHAT IS OFF THE STREETS?

Off the Streets is a collaboration between London based fixed gear race team One Life Cycle and Bikelife pioneer Jake100’s initiative Down To Ride.

BIKE RACES LIKE NO OTHER.

Off the Streets is an urban race series like no other. It’s the first series in the world to have Wheelie Elimination races, as well as criterium styled racing on fixed gear bikes and an ‘Any Bike’ category seeing competitors battle it out on race courses in industrial estates, go kart tracks and town centres.

BUILDING BRIDGES ON TWO WHEELS

Each race is unique to each event location. Our aim is to pool together and collaborate with local businesses, communities, musicians and artists, creating a festival of food, music and cycling and celebrating the talent, people and communities behind the race. With inspiration drawn from street culture and a spectrum of cycling subcultures we’ve created Off the Streets as a way to build bridges between communities and uniting together through our shared passions of bike riding.

Having started in the midst of a global pandemic, we have been running Off the Streets I and II under socially distanced guidelines. Our most recent event we held was livestreamed with a limited number of competitors. As things gradually open up, we aim to create a big spectacle with big crowds and epic skills on two wheels.

Cycling racing in various disciplines has traditionally been quite an elitist pursuit, with well defined demographic groups participating in the sport. Issues of accessibility and diversity still remain to these day. They pose as barriers to participating in sport and by creating these events we mean to break these down to encourage bike riding.

We want to push things further too, and behind the racing we have a youth program where participants can learn a new life skill and getting into employment. Learn more about our youth programme here.
