'Off The Streets ......... And Onto The Race Track' by Chris

PRE-SEASON EVENTS JANUARY & FEBURARY 2001
At this time of year all the Formula One teams are bringing
their winter work on there new cars to a climax and during
the next few weeks most confirm their engine, sponsor and
driver packages for the new season as well as each having
an official press launching of there new cars for the 2001
season.
Now this is pretty standard to a normal F1 team every season
with the exception this year of Minardi who at the turn of
the year had no engine deal for their cars no sponsor to decorate
it with or even any drivers to race the thing. As for the
date of their launch well that will probably be as close as
possible
to the First Grand Prix of the season in Australia in March.
For the rest of the teams apart from their lauch shows this
is a time for them to keep testing preparing and improving
their cars to give them the best possible set-up at the opening
round in Australia. As the winning constructor at this Grand
Prix has gone on to be the season long construtors champion
for the past 4 years this can prove to be a big start to a
successful year for a Team.
We will be updating you with all the developments both now
in pre-season and with up-to-date coverage of all the races
this comming season surely Off The Streets is the place to
be for any young F1 fan.
