Hi to everyone that reads this information, I do hope you are all well
and practising your drum rudiments. Don't forget to take your time when
practising and not rush at it as if your life depends on it. I would
like to offer you young drummers some advice and i hope you will act on
this or have a think about it.
In London there is an organisation that deals with handling groups
royalties from performances to juke box play's. They are simply called
The P R S, this stands for The Performing Rights Society. I joined about
Twenty Years ago when I was working with the band Dead Or Alive. To join
you have to have some of your songs broadcasted on radio, but the point
I am trying to get across to you all is when you are working in a band
or writing new drum beats please make sure you get a writers credit.
Lot's of musicians think they will be with this band or that for a long
time, and that they can trust the other musicians about song writing
credits. if you are contributing to a song the you have a right to a
writers credit.

SGT PEPPERS Album
This masterpiece was recorded 40 years ago this month, what a great
album and it features some really great drumming form Ringo Starr. Ringo
in my eye has always been overlooked as a drummer so it was nice to
listen to this album again over the weekend as it has some brilliant
rhythms and beats on it. When you read about different drummers and how
they got into playing they will always mention the fact that listening
to Sgt Peppers album was the reason why they took up drumming.
Chad Smith drummer with The Red Hot Chilli Peppers recently said about
Ringo's drumming, he was'nt a choppy drummer meaning (he did'nt use
lot's of drum rudiments in his playing) but he simply put it, tell me
One Beatles track that does'nt feel great?.
His answer was you can't do that can you. I agree with you Chad you
can't do it.

A stella line-up of UK Drummers has just been set up to perform a
concert that celebrates the music of Buddy Rich. Under the guidance of
Ian palmer, six other leading UK Drummers are as follows.
Steve White, Ian Paice, Jon Brooks, Neil Bullock, Pete Cater, and Gary
Allcock. They will all join palmer with the multi-award winning Fat
Chops Big Band to each perform two arrangementsof a Buddy Rich classic.
The aim of the concert is to have a contrast in styles of the drummers,
all brought together to perform in one genre. The show takes place at
the Lichfield Garrick Theatre on 29th September, on what would have
been the eve of Buddy Rich's 90th birthday. The concert is a tribute to
the man who most agree was the worlds greatest drummer. You can get full
