Tickets for the Glastonbury Festival sold out in record time, with the ticket sale website and phone lines holding up against an unprecedented surge of requests. The anti-touting procedures introduced this year have also been declared a success.

MATT HELDERS TURNS FASHION DESIGNER
Matt Helders that super drummer from Arctic Monkeys has turned his stick-thumping hands to fashion designing. Following in the steps of such other pop star's such as Lily Allen and Pete Docherty with his very own fashion line.
Matt has teamed up with the Supremebeing label, designing a selection of hoodies, zip-up, tops, and T-shirts.
Each item is limited to 600, and £1 of every garment sold from the collection will go to the Arthur Rank Hospice charity.
I think the clothes that Matt designs will be very popular and i would like to wish him good luck from everyone here at www.offthestreets.co.uk

Hello and welcome to all young drummers around the world that very
kindly read this drumming information, i would like to say a very big
thank you for all of the positive comments that i have had since
starting up this drumming information for you all. I would also like to
say a big thank you to Mark Rigler who very kindly put's the photo's
together that go with the words. I write this information in my lunch
break of which last's for 1 hour.
I am often asked by young people what type of music i listen to well the answer i give is, i listen to as much music as possible and i have a very wide cross section of music in my collection.
I tend to listen to
One or Two albums before i come into work, as i get up at around 6.30am
then head downstairs and select an album or two. Today i was listening
to Steely Dan's superb album simply titled Aja, if you have not heard
this album then please try and get hold of it.
The album has Seven tracks on it, and features Six different drummers of
which all play with different styles and different drumkits and cymbals.
The Following tracks are listed below with the drummers next to them.
TITLE DRUMMERS NAME
Black Cow (Paul Humphrey)
Aja (Steve Gadd)
Deacon Blues (Bernard Purdie)
Peg (Rick Marotta)
Home at last (Bernard Purdie)
I got the news (Ed Greene)
Josie ( Jim Keltner)
If you get the chance just go out and buy this masterpiece, the title track features the superb drumming of Steve Gadd playing a sensitive, sometimes explosive drumming performance that most music critics have said that this track may be Steve's best recorded work to date. The
album was recorded between January and July 1977 and it was released in September 1977.
Steely dan had a reputation for using a selection of different drummers,
getting them all to play the tracks for the album and then picking the
best one for each song. I am putting together an article about the drummers that worked over the years for Steely dan, i hope to have this
finished in the weeks ahead. If you would like to know more about Steve
Gadd, then please stay on this site and go to the drumming links and
simply click on it then scroll down and click on Steve Gadd.
This is the
official site for Dr Steve Gadd and it has got to be one of the very
best site's i have logged onto, i recently sent an e-mail to the guy who
writes for Dr Steve Gadd, telling how much i liked Steve's drumming on
the track The Glamour Profession from the album Gaucho. I got a message
sent to me saying thanks very much for the nice comments, Steve is
currently recording in down town New York City and he will be back next
week then he goes on tour with Joe Sample from (The Crusaders)
Aja is one of my all time favourite albums, i hope you enjoy listening
to it.

Glastonbury News
I recently heard that the Three Headlining acts for this year's Glastonbury festival held at Worthy Farm will be The Killers, The Arctic Monkeys, and The Who. I can't wait to see these three drummers in action
with their bands, Ronnie Vanucci(The Killers) Matt Helders (The Arctic
Monkeys) and Zak Starkey (The Who). I prefer to watch this festival in
the comfort of my living room, but i am sure there will be a great vibe
going on at what can only be described as the gig of the year. I will
keep you bang up to date with the line up for the festival and i will
mention what drummer is playing for what band.
POLICE NEWS, POLICE NEWS, POLICE NEWS
It was great to hear that the super group from the 80s The Police are to reform after a spell of 21years apart. The band will feature the original line up of Andy Summers (Guitar) Sting (Bass) and Stewart
Copeland (Drums).
This is great news and i am sure all of the gig's will
be sold out, Stewart Copeland influenced so many of our great drummers.
Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) said in an interview that he was
influenced by Copeland, and is still a big fan of his drumming.
***************************************
Taylor Hawkins said that his band The Foo Fighters were recently delighted when Prince covered their song Best Of You during his half time set at The SuperBowl, which was watched by a TV audience of 140 million. "It was amazing to hear" said Taylor, he did it better than we did and he say's that he had no idea at all that his Purpleness elected to play the song.
