Many thanks to Kyp at Mr Kyp's for putting on a matinee performance for
all youngsters from the age of 11years up to 17years of age on Sunday
afternoon 25th February 07. It was great to see so many youngsters
enjoying themselves and the tribute band that everyone went to see was
called Greenbay. This band played a very good set and it covered a wide
range of material from Greenday. The band were all very competent
musicians and it was nice to meet the boys later on when most people had
gone, once again thanks Kyp i called in to collect my son James aged 12
he was jumping around to the music with all of his friends. This was a
great gig for all youngsters.

The performances by the artists was very good, as each performance was
live. It was nice to see Chad Smith in action powering his band The Red
Hot Chili Peppers, he is such a great drummer to watch. The Killers were
also on top form and their drummer Ronnie Vannuci played superbly. But i
must admit the best live performance of the show was Oasis, they played
a medley of their songs and Zak Starkey their drummer played really
well. I am not surprised that he is such a great drummer as i have
mentioned in the past he had drum lessons off his dad "Ringo" and "Keith
Moon".

CHAD SMITH
It was nice to hear that Chad Smith, super drummer from The Red Hot
Chili Peppers took time out to visit Guildford's Academy of Contemporary
Music. Chad was opening the new Chad Smith Drum room of which features a
signature Chad Smith Pearl drumkit and a selection of top of the range
Sabian cymbals, Chad spent alot of time mixing and chatting to the
students as well as jamming with other drummers to the Chili Peppers hit

+44 New's Travis Barker has sadly re-broken his arm so it looks like he
will not be appearing at the forthcoming gig's that the band are to
play. However i have heard that all of the gigs are to go ahead as the
band will be joined by a top drummer, Travis has said that he will be at
all of the British gig's and i hope to give you a review of the
Southampton gig next week as a friend of mine is going as he got his
tickets months ago.

It was nice to hear that the band Incubus's drummer Jose Pasillas has
been raving about their new album Light Grenades as being their best

Dom Howard and the band are continuing down the path towards world
domination by booking two show's on the 16th and 17th June 07 at the
currently unfinished Wembley Stadium. maybe Dom and the boys will be

For all of the lucky readers of this page who got tickets for Travis
Barker's new band plus44, they will be in England playing a small sell
out tour very shortly. Travis will be playing his new drumkit of which
is a lime green acrylic kit complete with gold lugs and chrome hoops.
The drumkit changes colour when you shine the lights onto it so this
should be alot of fun to watch the crowd's reaction as it has freaked
out lot's of the fans on the American date's.
The drums are all Orange County and the sizes are as follows
24" by 22" Kick drum
12" by 10" rack tom tom
16" by 14" floor tom tom
A variety of snare drums bellbrass, black beauty, aluminium with a 10"
by 5" snare on his left hand side.

As soon as the Genesis tickets for their up and coming stadium gig's
went on sale there was a huge demand, as so many people wanted to buy
the tickets. All 100,000 ticket's were snapped up in 90 minutes, the
British tour is completely sold out.
