Ryan Richards, Drummer with Welsh Rockers - Funeral For A Friend

Ryan is now endorsed with Pearl Drums, he is currently using the new
Reference series drums after he heard a demonstration when he was at The
NAMM show. Ryan fell in love with the sound of the drums and as he say's
word must have got out that he liked the drums so much that the company
ordered a kit for him.

I am very pleased with the kit, as i did buy 2 Pearl kits when i was
learning to play. Pearl have always been the drum company for me as i
feel so comfortable playing them. I think that if you are not a drummer
it can be hard to understand why we drummers really like the kit's that
we play. I was really excited to say the least when i was offered an
endorsement deal with Pearl Drums.

Another very important factor for me is the quality of support that the
company gives you, any problems are sorted out very quickly and wherever
we play there is always a kit to my specifications delivered and ready
to play. Such are the pleasures of life at the upper end of the
performing stratosphere.

The band have been playing for a while now and are getting rave reviews
at their concerts, that they are now experiencing large numbers
constantly adding to their fan base. Ryan say's that the constant
touring of the band and the pressures of life on the road can sometimes
build up between other members of the band but all is forgotten when we
hit the stage as we all look forward to playing live.

We all knew each other before we got together in this band. I have
played with three of the guys in different bands before we joined up in
Funeral, and there has always been a good solid hard rock scene in South
Wales. So everyone knew each other pretty well, of course you do have
your moments but that is a constant factor of being together all of the
time.

Ryan says that his main drumming influences are as follows
Stewart Copeland from The Police

Brian Downey from Thin Lizzy

Phil Rudd from AC/DC

I have also got a lot of respect for the likes of Dave Grohland Dave
Lombardo. People come to see the band as a whole, they don't come to see me show off my best moves on the kit.

The Drumkit that Ryan uses is
