I hope you are all hard at work with your practicing on the drumkit, for
those of you who are new to drumming i would like to welcome you. Drum
rudiments are very important, i know that it does get very frustating
when you are learning how to play a rudiment. If it does'nt sound the
same as what you have heard by one of your favourite drummers, well those drummers that you are listening to have put in the very hard work of practicicing.
The single stoke paradiddle consists of eight beats, right left right
right left right left left. Please take your time when practicing this
exercise, if you try and put in as little as 30 minutes a day you will
find your technique and rudiments developing a lot quicker than you
think. Always practice on a practice pad, you can get a large selection
from your local drum store. You can put a practice pad on top of your
snare drum, this will help you to gain contol of the exercise's that you
are practicing.
Steve White used to practice for hours on end evry day, sometime's he
would practice all day, and it is by no surprise that Steve is one of
the best drummers around. Listen to any record by Paul Weller and you
will hear Steve's wonderful playing, playing as always for the song. If
